Monks, Mysteries and Miracles:
A
candlelight tour of St Bartholomew the Great
“Haunted History Walks" consist of original
devised walks around some of London's most haunted and
historical areas exploring some of the capitals most horrid
history and petrifying ghost stories.
How many
secrets lie hidden within the flickering shadows of London’s
oldest church? In full medieval splendour St Bartholomew the
Great in West Smithfield, has been witness to many of the
capitals most historic and sometimes barbaric moments. From
miracles, burnings, fairs and fires, the church emanates the
past in déjà vous. |

|
Upon entering
the ancient church one is immediately transported back into time
with an ecclesiastical assault on the senses. The medieval
ambience is often charged with claims that St Bart’s is the most
haunted church in the city.
In the faint glow of candlelight
you will walk in his footsteps in this specifically organised
tour arranged by ua and the church officials. You will be
enthralled with tales of bone houses, executions, phantoms and
missing relics as history blends with story in a unique evening
which promises to educate, entertain and possibly spook |
